PASIGHAT, Jun 27: Pasighat East MLA Kaling Moyong on Saturday inspected the Raneghat and Komlighat areas along the Siang river to take stock of the situation after heavy rain resulted in the rise of water level of Siang and its tributaries like Sibokorong and others.
The MLA was accompanied by CEO, Pasighat Smart City Sukhvinder Singh, AE WRD Bising Darin, former Chief Councillor Denong Tamuk and others. While appealing to the people not to venture out for fishing, collection of log and other activities along the banks, he instructed the CEO of Smart City, Pasighat to expedite preparation of a comprehensive Integrated Drainage Master Plan as a permanent solution to the city's drainage problem, taking into confidence the concerned departments. As of now, the PMC has already engaged JCB for de-silting of the existing main drainage of Pane Korong.
Later on the day, the MLA also inspected the low-lying water logged areas of Pasighat township like APP Colony, Green Valley, Pane Korong and other areas and appealed the denizens not to throw garbage and non-biodegradable wastes in Pane Korong which chokes the drainage system and causes many water and vector borne diseases to multiply during monsoon.
As per the meteorological data, heavy rainfall has been witnessed this time, with an average of 41.75 mm, which is 15.25 mm higher than the April-June 2019 period when it was 26.50 mm. DIPRO
