PASIGHAT, Apr 25: The prime accused in Yalik Siram Taloh assault case, Kamin Taloh was arrested from Nagaland by Pasighat police after much effort using Call Detail Records (CDR). He was brought from Tuli in Mokokchung district, Nagaland this morning.
In an alleged incident of domestic violence, Kamin Taloh along with his mother assaulted and attempted to kill his wife. An FIR has been registered in a case which sparked much outrage among the people. While the mother was arrested on April 19 last, Kamin had been evading police arrest.
Sub Inspectors Vicky Lowang and Kari Pertin were sent to bring the accused on Wednesday. Informing about the arrest, Officer-in-Charge, Pasighat PS, Inspector Atan Taki said that whereabouts of Taloh was tracked through mobile CDR details which was received a bit late. It is said that, Kamin was using a separate mobile number there, but his call was tracked and zeroed at Tuli, Nagaland.
The police official further informed that three bank accounts of the accused were frozen on Wednesday which further aided in pinning him down. “He had tried to surrender on April 19 last when his mother was arrested, however seeing the massive gathering at the police station in support of his wife, he went underground fearing for his life,” he added.
Meanwhile, Nino Welfare Society (NWS) East Siang Unit President, Gonir Jamoh along with parents of the victim have appreciated the huge outpouring of support seeking justice for Yalik whose health is still said to be in poor condition.
