SEPPA , Dec 29 : The three-day 3rd State level paragliding accuracy competition concluded successfully here today at Lumdung paragliding site in East Kameng district.
It was organized by Paragliding Association of Arunachal under the aegis of Arunachal Olympic Association supported by the Department of Youth Affairs, Government of Arunachal from December 27-29 at Lumdung, Papu Valley, East Kameng.
Attending as chief guest on the concluding day, Minister Sports & Youth Affairs Mama Natung in his address said that this is the first time that accuracy competition of Paragliding has been organized at state level. Paragliding has now been included in Sports Authority of Arunachal and is also associated with Arunachal Olympic Association.
Congratulating all winners and participants, he also appealed to the local people of East Kameng to welcome tourists and opt for hotel or homestay to boost tourism in the area.
Attending as special guest, MLA Basar, Gokar Basar, stated Lumdung is a suitable place to develop more adventure sports and appealed to the Minister to develop the area as a tourist hotspot.
Kulu Liyake , Bimal Natung and Taba Kaya received first, second and third prize in the male category. Whereas, Usha Nalaiju, Minu Keyang and Mina Doka bagged first, second, and third in the female category.
Deputy Commissioner East Kameng Gaurav Singh Rajawat, Assistant Director, Tourism Manna Bengia Sonam, HoDs of the district, local leaders, GBs and public were present on the occasion.
