YUPIA, Mar 2: Concerned at the low immunization coverage under Mission Indradhanush programmes in Papumpare district, Deputy Commissioner Tai Kaye on Thursday directed the healthcare personnel to work with renewed zeal to bring significant improvement in the next round of campaign.

Presiding over a review meeting of District Task Force Immunization (DTFI) on Mission Indradhanush phase-4 & 1st round, the DC advised the health workers along with DDSE, ICDS to know their roles and responsibilities and encouraged the participants to take the mission as a challenge and ensure that no child is left out.

Stressing that despite having enough human resources and significant edge in communication and transportation, he said that only few blocks have achieved the expected target.

Urging all the health workers to actively participate in the campaign, the DC also cautioned of strict action against absentees. DC also urged DDSE, ICDS and other line department of the district to work in tandem with Health department for effective implementation of the all health programmes.

DMO Dr. Tasso Kampu, exhorted all medical officer in-charges and other health workers to actively take part in the programmes and prepare micro-plan as per head count by involving ASHAs of their blocks.

SMO WHO, Dr.Tage Taka, highlighted the key issues and observations during the 1st round of IPPI & MI, phase-4. He also gave an important presentation regarding the core issues found during 1st round and also reviewed the low coverage of immunization in high risk areas of the district.

Strategies for coming MI-4, round-2 which is going to start from March 7 next were also discussed in length in the meeting.
