Itanagar, Feb 29: To effectively manage the ensuing elections the Papum Pare District Administration recently concluded a comprehensive training program for Sector Officers (SOs) and Sector Police Officers (SPOs) on February 28 and 29 at DK Convention Centre, Itanagar.
Inaugurating the training the District Election Officer (DEO), Jiken Bomjen, emphasized on the importance of attending all election training sessions for an error free, fair and free elections. He also stressed teamwork and proper coordination among officers.
The training covered essential topics such as maintaining law and order, understanding electoral protocols, and utilizing technology like Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) machines. Practical sessions and troubleshooting exercises were conducted to enhance officers' skills.
Adherence to the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and the use of tools like C-Vigil for monitoring electoral malpractices were highlighted. Practical exercises, including simulated mock polls and discussions on handling postal ballots were also imparted to the officers.
Sessions on vulnerability mapping and securing critical polling stations were included to address electoral irregularities.
The resource persons for the training included Rohit Rajbir Singh, Superintendent of Police, Itanagar; Dr. Dana Unna, EAC, Papum Pare, Yupia , Khoda Lasa, EAC, Capital Itanagar, Tad Issac, DIO, Yupia and S.B Singh, Assistant Director, SCERT Office, Itanagar.
The District Election Office (DEO) of Papum Pare will be imparting similar trainings to all the polling officials for the upcoming election process, ensuring that all necessary preparations are in place to conduct smooth, free and fair elections.
