Rono hills, Aug 23: The department of Mass Communication, Rajiv Gandhi University held Induction programme, which was graced by Toko Tatung, Secretary General, Arunachal Chambers of Commerce and Industries (ACCI) and Amar Sangno, President, Arunachal Pradesh union of working journalists (APUWJ).
Speaking to the students, Tatung who is an entrepreneur and also the proprietor of E&Ks restaurant narrated his academic journey from Government school to St. Stephen's College . He encouraged the students to have the courage "to swim against the tide" when there is wrong being done, "Respect the authority but do not be in awe of it or it will trample you" added Tatung speaking hugely to be courageous when it comes to journalism.
Sangno, an alumnus of the university spoke on how journalism is in peril due to the rising numbers of unreliable news sources and how to tackle it by " sticking to credibility ". He also added " do not lose your integrity to impress the authority "
