ITANAGAR, Mar 1: A conglomeration of organizations on Friday demanded the resignation of Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and Chairman, Joint High Power Committee (JHPC) following the death of three youths in the agitation against the contentious permanent residence certificate (PRC) issue here in the state capital.
In a memorandum addressed to the Governor, it also demanded immediate suspension of Deputy Commissioner, capital complex and Superintendent of Police for their alleged role in mishandling the tense situation which claimed three innocent lives and inflicting injuries to many.
“We strongly condemn the killings of innocent youth voicing their rights including the massive damage to public and private properties due to series of wrong decisions and misgovernance by the present state government,” it stated in a release.
It also sought a court-monitored probe to inquire into the death of the three youths in police firing to give justice to the aggrieved families.
The organizations include All Arunachal Pradesh Youth Organisation (AAPYO), All Arunachal Pradesh Motor Transport Federation(AAMTF), Arunachal Students Federation(ASF), All Arunachal Pradesh Unemployed Union(AAPUU), All Capital Complex Registered Contractor organization (ACCRCO), and Arunachal People front(APF).
