ITANAGAR, Feb 17. East Kameng Social Welfare & Cultural Organisation (EKSWCO), in collaboration with the family of late Tarang Bayang, announced the EKSWCO Young Eagles (EYEs)-Tarang Bayang Memorial Scholarship for higher studies for underprivileged bright students studying in government and government-aided schools of East Kameng district. The EYEs is a youth project of the EKSWCO, and the Tarang Bayang Memorial Scholarship will be taken up under the EYEs project.
Attending the first death anniversary of late Tarang Bayang, Minister Youth Affairs and Sports and WRD Mama Natung remembered late Tarang as a sincere father who contributed to society by giving good education to his children. Natung exuded hope that the Tarang Bayang Memorial Scholarship would help the poor and needy students to get better education. He asked the EKSWCO to work out the modalities and implement the scholarship by this academic session.
Tarang Bayang was a Chowkidar with the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and died on 16 February 2020. He was awarded with commendation certificate by the district administration for being an exemplary father who gave good education to his children despite being an illiterate and having a low paid job in 2006. The EKSWCO had also felicitated him in recognition to his good fatherhood in 2008.
