Namsai, Nov 8: Spices Board Field Office, Namsai conducted a three-day RPL Training Programme on Organic Grower (AGR/Q1201) from November 5-7 here at Samuguri village.
The training programme was a part of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) which is a flagship scheme of the Union Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) with the objective of enabling youths to take up industry relevant skill training for securing better livelihoods. Under RPL-PMKVY, beneficiaries were pre-screened, counselled with orientation and assessed in accordance with the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF). Resource Person Bydyapati Ngangom, SMS, KVK, Momomg highlighted the importance and scope of organic farming, seasonal plan, planting methodology and seed selection. SMS, KVK, Momong Madhumita Sonowal Bora spoke on soil nutrient management, weed & irrigation control, quality assurance & certification, health and safety issues. SFO, Spices Board, Field Office Namsai Senthil Kumaran discussed about integrated pest and disease management, while the other SFO Puvichonu Rhutso spoke about harvest and post-harvest management in organic farming.
Practical demonstration on preparation of organic inputs like panchagavya, matka khad and beejamruth were also parts of the training which was attended by 37 organic growers. Spices Board PR
