ITANAGAR, Nov 23: The Arunachal Youth Organisation (AYO) on Friday requested the Minister, Health and Family Welfare to create a post of an independent and separate director for Mental Health department to look after the lone Mental Asylum at Yupia.
In a memorandum, it informed that due to absence of a head, the staffers, doctors are facing immense hardship in delivering public health services.  It also highlighted the severe shortage of doctors and medical staffers in the rehabilitation center which is now obstructing its smooth functioning.
It further requested for up-gradation and further extension of the hospital infrastructures claiming that after its establishment years back no action has been taken to develop its infrastructure owing to which presently no one wants to admit their dear ones  for treatment .
