ITANAGAR, Feb 10: The All Yachuli Students’ Union (AYSU) along with the All Nyishi Youth Association (ANYA)-Lower Subansiri district in a memorandum submitted to the Chief Secretary has appealed for the shifting of the temporary functional Rural Works Circle (RWC) office from Ziro to Yachuli.
Addressing the media here at Arunachal Press Club today, AYSU President Baath Tolu said RWC office at Ziro is temporary and is adjusted and attached under RWD office, which is totally inconsequential. He further said that for an effective administrative functioning there should be sufficient land for infrastructure setup and premises for an office, which the Ziro valley does not have.
“Yachuli has a vast land area which is already notified by the government for construction of the office. Therefore, the office should be shifted to Yachuli on permanent basis,” he demanded, adding that there won’t be any issues of land compensation. Tolu also informed that during the Nyishi-Apatani summit, it was also agreed to prepare a road map for the district headquarter expansion as per resolution. It was resolved to an agreement that all new developmental activities and establishment of new infrastructure, including the district headquarter’s residential and non-residential buildings shall be built in Yachuli based on feasibility and land availability, he added.
Meanwhile, district ANYA President Joram Byai said that Ziro being one of the most congested towns has countless obstacles and complicacies in the construction of new government office buildings and establishments. He also appealed the Apatani community to cooperate with the organization for the greater welfare of the people and the district. “We have also consulted the matter with the Tanw Supun Dupun (TSD) and we want the district to get a balanced distribution of development,” he added. The duo organization also added that if the state government does not respond positively within 15 days, they will opt for democratic movements demanding the same.
Earlier in 2019, the organization has also submitted a letter to the Education Minister Taba Tedir, who is the legislator from Yachuli constituency demanding the rollback of the earlier order for creation of regular RWC at Ziro and shifting it permanently to Yachuli.
