DAMBUK, Dec 15: Chief Minister Pema Khandu today attended the opening day of the 5th edition of Orange Festival of Adventure and Music. He also flagged off the JK Tyre Orange 4X4 Fury, the ultimate natural off-roading event. 
Addressing the inaugural event, Chief Minister said tourism festivals in the state such as Ziro festival of music, Mechuka Adventure Festival, Orange festival were initiated during his tenure as tourism minister. 
He said tourism will be game changer for Arunachal and particularly for eastern Arunachal. He said as connectivity progresses the region will see competition among each other. He said place like Vijaynagar owing to its spectacular natural beauty will give tough competition to other parts of Arunachal.
Orange festival has grown from being initially met with skepticism to wide acceptance among the locals. It is growing bigger and better every year and will benefit the local tribal communities economically, said Khandu.
For benefit of rubber farmers, Chief Minister assured that the state government will engage with JK tyres for improvement and development of rubber farming in the state. 
Chief Minister later inaugurated the Horticulture exhibition stall showcasing the local produces such as oranges, kiwi from Lower Dibang Valley and Dibang Valley.  
Earlier welcome address was delivered by local MLA Gum Tayeng.
