RONO HILLS, Jun 1: A five-day Online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on the topic “Madhyakaleen Hindi Sahitya Mein Sodh Ki Sambhavnayein” organized by the Department of Hindi, Rajiv Gandhi University commenced here on Monday.
The inauguration was made by Vice-Chancellor, Sri Lal Bahadur Shashtri, Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth, New Delhi Professor Ramesh Kumar Pandey and the inaugural session was chaired by RGU VC Professor Saket Kushwaha. Dean, Faculty of Languages and Coordinator Professor Oken Lego expressed optimism that participants will be immensely benefitted from the expertise of the resource persons. Professor Pandey opined that Bhakti Literature is the backbone of Hindi Literature and highlighted the importance of moral messages carried by the Vedas, Puranas and the Ramayana. RGU VC while thanking the department for arranging the programme, stressed on the need for quality research by maintaining transparency and advised the participants to devote sufficient time in their research endeavours.
Guest of Honour RGU Pro-VC Professor Amitava Mitra briefed the history of research done so far on Medieval Hindi Literature and advised the participants to work on approved research topics adopting new approaches. Special Guest, acting Registrar of the varsity Professor Tomo Riba exhorted the participants to extract maximum output from the programme and Joint Registrar (Academic & Conference) Dr. David Pertin informed that RGU has been an active contributor to online learning and training methodology which has assumed greater importance during the current pandemic times.
The online FDP is being participated by one hundred Assistant Professors & research scholars from across the nation. Head, Department of Hindi Dr. Shyam Shankar Singh and Assistant Professor of Hindi Dr. Joram Yalam Nabam also spoke on the occasion. RGU PR
