ITANAGAR, Jun 9: Capital police on Sunday arrested a person in connection with mobile phone theft. 
Following a complaint lodged by one T Talo, of Economic & Static Colony, Itanagar that on 16th March some unknown person entered into his residence and stole his mobile handset, police swung into action and SI N Nishant was endorsed to investigate the case.
Registering a case No.73/2019 u/s 380 IPC, Capital Police set a trap at Bank Tinali with the help of informer and cracked the case after two months of investigation by arresting one, a resident of Economics & Statistics Colony, Vivek Vihar,Itanagar.
“Accused N Ranu has been formally arrested in the case and he has confessed to his crime and will be produced before court tomorrow," informed Capital SP Tumme Amo.
As a word of caution, the SP has advised people to avoid purchasing any items from social networking sites until it is properly verified. In this case also, two students were easily trapped by the perpetrator and were on the verge of arrest. However, due to active efforts of the IO, the actual culprit could be nabbed and sent behind bars, added the SP.
