AALO, Mar 9:The District Legal Services Authority, West and Lower Siang District, Basar observed the International Women’s Day by organising a day long awareness program to sensitize citizens of the area about welfare schemes and legislations of the State and Central Governments involving various government departments.
A total 20 stalls were opened by several departments.
The special focus of Legal Services Camp was on women empowerment, NALSA (Victims of Trafficking and Commercial Sexual Exploitation) Scheme, 2015 and NALSA (Protection and Enforcement of Tribal Rights) Scheme, 2015.
A free health camp was also organised, where medicines were distributed free of cost after checkups.
All the departments distributed pamphlets and brochures of various schemes to the public and raised awareness on welfare schemes implemented through their department.
The DC, Lower Siang District, Likabali, DFO Aalo, Commandant 49th ITBP Basar, DMO Likabali, DDSE Likabali, ADC (i/c) Basar, CDPO Basar were present on the day.
