PASIGHAT, May 27: In a move to expedite the functionalization of the North Eastern Institute of Folk Medicine, Pasighat under Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India which is an only such institute across the North East and whole of India, the authorities are now accelerating the recruitment process of the institute to make it functional which hasn’t been done so despite its completion couple of years ago.

A team from Ministry of AYUSH, Govt of India headed by Under Secretary, Amit Ranjan visited the NEIFM, Pasighat on Friday to speed up the process of recruitment of staffers and doctors for the institute. While talking to this reporter, Ranjan said that, the advertisement for the vacancies and other requirements have already been issued by the Director of the institute and very shortly the recruitments of Doctors, Botanist, staffers for IT and others will begin. When asked on the infrastructure of the institute, he said that the basic required infrastructure are already in place and rest will gradually be developed after functionalization of the institute.

‘The location of the institute is very beautiful and the institute will of great use here once it starts services,’ he added.

Meanwhile, Director of NEIFM, Pasighat Pekyom Ringu, IFS said that, he is making all out effort to process pending files while mobilizing officials at New Delhi for early start of the institute which once functional will not only serve patients from Arunachal, but also patients from whole of North-East and rest of the country.
