SEPPA, Nov 23: The Officer’s Club Seppa emerged as overall Team Champions in the recently concluded 8th edition of the Greater Kameng Badminton Championship 2018 with 8 gold, 10 silver and 11 bronze medals, edging past previous Champions Tawang with over 100 points.
Touted to be one of the biggest badminton championship events of the state, the 8th GKBC concluded here on Thursday with 17 final matches fiercely competed by the teams from Tawang, Bomdila, Dirang, Nafra, Bhalukpong and the host Seppa.  The final events were witnessed by Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Alo Libang and TapukTaku, local MLA as the chief guest and guest of honour respectively. Started on 19 November, the Championship saw enthusiastic participation of over 150 participants from 6 clubs of three districts from erstwhile Kameng district centering on the theme ‘Unity Through Sports’, organized by the Officers’ Club Seppa, under the aegis of East Kameng Badminton Association and Greater Kameng Badminton Association.  The next edition of GKBC will be played at Nafra, West Kameng district.
