PASIGHAT, Jan 29: The ‘Lighting and Pledge Taking Ceremony’ of the 1st year GNM students was held today here at Bakin Pertin General Hospital, where a total of 29 females and 5 males of the 3-year Diploma Course of 6th batch took oath.
DC Dr. Kinny Singh while addressing the trainees said that caring is the heart of nursing profession which follows the ideals of “The Lady with the Lamp, Florence Nightingale”. She advised the students to be attentive, sincere and dedicated during the course. Jt. Director (T&R) Dr. D. Raina stated that nurses are always regarded as the backbone of healthcare delivery system and affect human lives by the very nature of their profession. Deputy Director of Nursing, Naharlagun, K. Karga exhorted the trainees to extend their best services. Principal of Government Nursing School, HTRC, Pasighat Angel Tayeng delivered lecture on significance of ‘Lamp Lighting Ceremony’ while Vice-Principal Aruna Chowdhury administered oath to the students, lighting lamps. Medical Superintendent Dr. YR Darang and Tutor Neeliam Bangsia also spoke on the occasion.
