PASIGHAT, Feb 25: As a part of celebrations of 200th birth anniversary of “The Lady with the Lamp” Florence Nightingale who is considered as the pioneering figure of modern nursing, the GNM & ANM Nursing school students of the Health Training & Research Centre (HTRC) along with nursing staff of Bakin Pertin General Hospital & Training Centre in collaboration with Trained Nurses’ Association of India (TNAI), State Branch, Arunachal Pradesh took out a candlelight rally here from BPGH to Gandhi Chowk on Tuesday evening.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has designated 2020 as the “Year of the Nurse and Midwife” in honour of Florence Nightingale for strengthening universal health coverage around the world, informed MS (BPGH) Dr. YR Darang in her brief address. She exhorted the nurses to be efficient, kind and sincere while taking care of patients. Principal GNM Natel Jamoh, VP Aruna Chaudhuri, Principal ANM Bamin Yaje, Matron Y. Zirdo Dabi and teaching faculties of nursing schools also participated in the rally.
Earlier, while addressing the nursing students in hospital premises, the speakers exhorted students to follow the path shown by Nightingale in all cases of medical care. DIPRO
