LEKHI, Mar 7: The Arunodaya University (AU) on Thursday felicitated ten NSS volunteers from the varsity for winning 3rd prize in the one-act play contest during the recently concluded 7th North East Youth Festival held in Agartala, Tripura.
AU pro-chancellor Prof VN Sharma felicitated the NSS volunteers at his office chamber here in presence of the university’s director Dr Suresh Verma, registrar Sohan Kr Jha, academic coordinator KK Jha, NSS coordinator MK Shah and faculty members.
The university’s NSS team, who represented Arunachal Pradesh in the festival, had performed a one-act play on the theme ‘Say no to drugs’ highlighting the harmful effects of drugs on people’s lives.
The 7th North East Youth Festival held from February 26-29 last was organized by the Youth Affairs & Sports Department, Government of Tripura in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India.
Earlier on March 2 last, Sports & Youth Affairs minister Mama Natung had also felicitated the NSS contingent from the state.
