KHONSA, Feb 6: In a major breakthrough, the joint force of Army Dao Division and Deomali police as a part of its intensified operations against insurgent activities under Tirap District successfully apprehended a hardcore cadre of NSCN (U) on Wednesday.
The arrest was made following an Intelligence report received from ground sources about movement and presence of NSCN (U) Cadre in the Hakunjuri area.
A point 32mm Pistol and live ammunition were recovered from his possession.
The successful operation gave a severe blow to the insurgent group and reinstated the confidence of the local populace in security forces in maintaining peace and tranquillity in the region, Tirap SP stated in an official press release. DIPRO
