Changlang, May 30:  Based on departmental intelligence inputs about the presence of an underground operative engaged in carrying out extortion activities in Kengkhu village which is 7 km away from the Changlang PS under Changlang Circle, APP Changlang unit on Friday last at around 1900 hrs conducted a raid at a suspected hideout and apprehended one active NSCN-R cadre. The operation led by OC Changlang PS Inspector CA Namchoom was conducted by a special police team under supervision of SP Mihin Gambo. On-the-spot interrogation revealed that the apprehended cadre was a self-styled operative named Minlong Pansa (24) residing at Chodok-I village under Changlang Circle and had joined NSCN-R in June 2018 and undergone jungle warfare training. A case has been registered at Changlang PS under section 384/511 IPC. DIGP (TCL) Kime Kaming while appreciating the Changlang police team motivated them to take stringent measures against all anti-social elements like drug peddlers and underground organizations in the TCL region.
