ITANAGAR, Dec 4: A team of officers from State Programme Management Unit (SPMU) of Shyama Prasad Mukherji National Rurban Mission (NRUM) led by Nyali Ete, Special Secretary, RD & PR, and Chera Sanjiv, Joint Director (RE) arrived at Dudunghar village under Zemithang-Dudunghar CD Block, Tawang district to start the preliminary works at Dudunghar Rurban cluster.
Dudunghar has been selected under NRUM programme by Union Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD). During the interactive session with the local people of the village, the Special Secretary spoke about the works which could be taken up under NRUM through critical gap funding. Lobsang Tsetan, Project Director, DRDA Tawang also spoke on the occasion and requested the local stakeholders to take active part during the preparation of Integrated Cluster Action Plan which will serve as the blueprint for development of Dudunghar Rurban cluster. The team visited Primary Health Centre and Government Middle School to conduct preliminary deficiency analysis along with the stakeholders of the cluster village as a training exercise. Previously, the officials from Department of Rural Development met with the District Project Management Unit under the chairmanship of Sang Phuntsok, Deputy Commissioner, Tawang and HoDs at DC’s conference hall.
A detailed presentation was made on NRUM by the Special Secretary (RD & PR). He explained that 30% works under NRUM would be implemented under Critical Gap Funding and 70% works would be taken up as convergence with other departments. The DC directed all the HoDs to extend their support to the Project Director, DRDA for successful formulation of ICAP in timely manner.
The team also inspected works executed under MGNREGS, PMAY (G) and other schemes implemented under RD Department.
