ITANAGAR, Jan 12: The State executive meeting of National People’s Party (NPP) state unit which was held here at a city hotel adopted a three-point resolution that the party will contest as many seats as possible in the forthcoming legislative assembly election 2019 and both the Lok Sabha parliamentary seats from the state.  It was also decided not to go for any pre-poll alliance with any political parties in Arunachal Pradesh and to form a manifesto drafting committee.
The meeting was chaired by CM, Meghalaya & National President of NPP, Conrad K Sangma in presence of Deputy Chief Minister of Manipur, Joy Kumar Singh, Home Minister of Meghalaya, James K Sangma etc.
In his address, Conrad announced that the party would go it alone in the forthcoming assembly election in Arunachal Pradesh, and contest in all the 24 seats in the Lok Sabha in different states of the Northeast.  He further praised the State NPP for managing the party affairs effectively under the state presidentship of Gicho Kabak.
While welcoming the dignitaries, Kabak drew the attention of the house towards the unemployment scenario and successive state government’s failure in solving various emerging issues.
As NPP is a tribal-centric party, Kabak said that the party has been consistently working for the greater welfare of tribal communities and observed that the party needs to play a vital role for all-round development of this landlocked state which has hardly any large industry despite the huge availability of untapped natural resources.
He further highlighted the party’s preparedness for the ensuing election and talked about various issues confronting development in the state.
MLAs Tanga Byaling,  Tirang Aboh, Nikh Kamin, Dikto Yikar, Mutchu Mithi, representatives of women wings, District Presidents, senior leaders, party workers in huge numbers attended the meeting.
