Itanagar, Apr 4: National People’s Party (NPP) will field Khyoda Apik as MP candidate in Arunachal Western Parliamentary Constituency and not in the Eastern Parliamentary Constituency, according to its press release issued today.
As per direction of the party high command, the party’s state unit has resolved to support BJP MP Candidate Tapir Gao and BJP MLA candidates where there is no NPP MLA candidate in Eastern Parliamentary Constituency. The District Committee of NPP in Eastern Parliamentary Constituency has also endorsed the decision of the party’s high command and state unit.
State President of NPP Arunachal Pradesh Gicho Kabak has directed all the district and block committees in Eastern Parliamentary Constituency to support Gao and BJP MLA candidates where there is no NPP MLA candidate in fray in this parliamentary constituency.
Further, the State President has expressed that although BJP and NPP have no pre-poll alliance in Arunachal Pradesh, post-poll alliance for formation of government is imminent under North-East Democratic Alliance(NEDA).
It is worth mentioning that BJP and NPP has coalition governments in the three states of Meghalaya, Manipur and Nagaland under North- East Democratic Alliance (NEDA). NPP Press Release
