ITANAGAR, Mar 5: The city police on Monday arrested a notorious bike lifter while investigating PS case no.62/18 u/s 379 IPC and on the basis of information provided during interrogation recovered six stolen motorcycles and five scooters from various locations under the twin capital.
The team of police which busted the interstate bike lifter gang was led by SDPO Itanagar K Sikom with continuous support by OC PS T Bage, SI L Kamcham, SI NNishant , ASI AK Jha, Constable Kojum Mosi under active supervision of SP Capital, Sagar Singh Kalsi.
On the accused disclosure, two more motorcycles were also recovered at Seppa by police teams of Seppa PS, which is yet to be brought to the state capital, informed Itanagar PS source.
Meanwhile when contacted SDPO, PS, Itanagar K Sikom said that on the basis of information provided by the arrested person, they are now looking for other members of the gang ,who are on the run. He said that the massive recovery of stolen vehicles was possible with the arrest of the accused.
He informed that police had to intensify search operation to nab bike lifters following rising cases of vehicle thefts in the twin capital since last few months.
Further appealing unemployed youth not to engage in such illegal activities, the SDPO also appealed citizens to lock their vehicles and not to park their vehicles in isolated area which makes for easy target.
