PASIGHAT, Nov 10: President of India Award recipient and one of Arunachal’s most respected teachers, Namut Dai passed away on November 8 last here at his Mirku residence. He is survived by wife Yamum Dai, three sons and a daughter.
Son of Late Otel Dai and Late Momang Dai, Namut was born in1954 and joined service as teacher in March 1971 and retired in June 2014. For his outstanding contributions in the field of education, he was conferred with the State Teacher Award on September 5, 1998 and also the National Teacher Award in September 2007.
“I am extremely shocked to hear about the loss of our favourite teacher and I will forever remember his contributions and extend my heartfelt sympathies to his family,” Local MLA Kaling Moyong said in his condolence message. DIPRO
