Naharlagun, Jul 13: Office of 'North-East Idol' (NEI) was inaugurated today by the Minister of Tourism, Transport and Civil Aviation Nakap Nalo here at Papu Hill.
The Minister while announcing to extend support to Team NEI also urged other related departments such as the Department of Indigenous & Cultural Affairs to come forward to encourage and support NEI in promoting local talents and traditional culture. Applauding the efforts of NEI, he said that it is for the first time that Northeast states are unitedly venturing an event with a noble cause to help people in distress and cancer patients. Chairperson, NEI Nabam Amzi Sonam said that NEI is all set to be an intimate platform for artists in Northeast India which will allow them to convey messages of oneness and emotions that will endorse communal harmony.
Team NEI is undertaking social responsibility by organising NEI in aid of Aashiana, Arunachal State Chapter (ASC) and Cancer Institute. NEI will definitely communicate towards meaningful positive changes in the societies and people of Northeast India and Aashiana is happy to partner with NEI, remarked ASC President Mina Toko.
Northeast Unification cover song album which showcases singers and official dialects of different Northeast states was also released on the occasion.
