HAWAI, Jun 14:Heavy rainfall in Anjaw district since June 9 last has damaged roads affecting surface connectivity and normal life in the district.
However, landslides which had occurred between Lautul and Kherang connecting Hayuliang to Hawai has been cleared by M/S Sushee Infra & Mining Pvt. Ltd under NHIDCL including the 26 Hollong Nallah and the Dhanbari Nallah. Connectivity in bridge point over Moody Nallah at 21 KM which had collapsed in April this year has been once again overrun by heavy spate of river flow, thus making it impossible to cross over.
Deputy Commissioner, Anjaw District, Mamata Riba has reiterated advisories issued earlier through District Disaster Management Authorities to maintain caution calling upon all citizens to avoid travelling till the heavy downpour subsides on account of recurrent landslides in unstable soil conditions. The DySP K Duggong who visited the block points is monitoring the ground situation with the District Administration.
