ITANAGAR, Jun 24:  Minister Sports & Youth Affairs, Mama Natung today clarified that   no project under Sports and Youth Affairs department especially infrastructure like stadium would be allocated on political pressure.
Natung was addressing a felicitation event for the achievers of Sub-Junior Girls Football Team, Karatekas and Taekwondo players. Minister in his speech asserted that sports infrastructure would only be allocated after proper examination of the area and solely for the uses of sports personalities and sports events. The Minister made this statement after various organizations placed their grievances stating that many infrastructures stand unused and in some places they are being used for purposes other than sports.
While congratulating the Girls football team and all other achievers, Minister urged the sports personalities to maintain and set their goal in life.  “From the beginning, you have to set your target and no one can stop you to achieve the goal in whichever sports discipline it would be,” encouraged   Natung. While assuring all the sports association and sports personalities to extend help, the Minister informed that he would give his best to build a national level stadium within 2024 in the state.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary, Arunachal Football Association Kipa Ajay highlighted   the journey of girl’s football team in the state and informed that at present the state  capital doesn’t   have proper ground even for practice and  the  Sub Junior girls  football team have to set their camp in Nari under Lower Siang district. Among others, Secretary of Arunachal Karate Association, Bulang Marik, Secretary Arunachal Taekwondo Association Tara Tagin also spoke on the occasion.
The felicitation event was also attended by Secretary, Sports Dani Sulu, Directors and officials from the Department and Sports Associations.
