ITANAGAR, Mar 28: According to the Saturday’s State Bulletin on Covid-19, till date there are no coronavirus cases in Arunachal Pradesh.
A State Task Force meeting chaired by the Secretary (H & FW) was held on Saturday at the DHS Conference Hall to discuss the state’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Covid-19 response and preparedness. Highlights of the meeting were- functionalizing TRIHMS as a dedicated Covid-19 Hospital, providing online training to all stakeholders and health workers as and when required, strengthening the DHS Control Room for responding queries from all districts etc.
A meeting was also convened by the Secretary (H & FW) here at the Conference Hall of the Civil Secretariat in the evening attended by the Deputy Commissioners of Itanagar and Papum Pare, Superintendents of Police, Director Health Services along with health officials and IMA representative.
Capital DC informed that a designated quarantine facility will be made functional by Sunday at the Bharat Scouts & Guides Hostel, Naharlagun and Ashoka Hotel Itanagar. He also informed that accommodation will be arranged for government doctors and health workers to be posted at the RK Mission Hospital. Offices of both the DCs will provide transportation for the quarantined patients and health workers.
Meanwhile, the state advisory for the students returning from other states to Arunachal Pradesh remains in force. All such students have been advised to practice social distancing by home quarantine for a period of 14 days and in case of manifestation of symptoms like fever, cough and breathing difficulties, they must immediately contact the 24x7 Control Room-104  or the nearest health centre. For those currently observing home quarantine, the bulletin has laid out a series of dos and don’ts. All such persons have been advised to stay in a separate room, if possible with an attached/separate toilet and maintain a distance of at least 1 meter from others. Wearing mask at all times is highly necessary and in absence of it, a clean cotton cloth folded into a double layer can be tied on face strictly covering the nose and mouth. Separate dishes, towels, bedding etc. is also a must and all these must also be cleaned separately. Surfaces such as floors, table tops, chairs, door handles etc. should be cleaned at least once a day and only one assigned family member should play the role of the caretaker during this 14-day period.
Since the caretaker will remain in close proximity with the quarantined person, certain instructions have also been prepared for them. These are- keeping a distance of one metre while entering the room, wearing a mask or covering the face with a double-layered cotton cloth and compulsorily washing hands after coming out of the room.
Till Saturday, the total number of patients screened at all entry points in the state is 1738, under quarantine at home 545 and students currently being monitored under home quarantine who have returned from the other states 347. In the state’s 24 districts, disinfection had been carried out in all health facilities, government offices and public transport facilities along with awareness spreading through Public Address System and hoardings & banners/posters at prominent locations.
