Meanwhile, a total of 32,577 people had been screened at various entry points under Capital Complex till Thursday and no case with suspected symptoms of Covid19 was detected, Capital SP Tumme Amo informed.
The SP however regretted that many VIPs/senior government officials arriving at the checkgates are not stopping their cars for screening by the medical teams. He requested the general public, senior government officials, VIPs to cooperate with police and medical teams to ensure that fight against coronavirus in state is successful. “I have instructed my police teams to take photographs of such non-cooperating VIPs and senior government officials and their photos will be uploaded on social media as we do in cases of traffic violations, for which they should not mind us,” said the SP. Earlier, the state government issued a public advisory suggesting all to follow the simple public health measures which include adherence to good personal hygiene, frequent hand washing with soap etc. It has also been advised to avoid mass gatherings and close contact with people who are showing suspected symptoms like cough, runny nose etc.
Large-scale screenings are also being continued to identify coronavirus cases across the state. ES News Desk
