ITANAGAR, Mar 14: The ‘Bulletin on Covid-19 for Arunachal Pradesh’ which gives a regular update on the Coronavirus scenario has confirmed that as on Saturday, no cases had been detected in the state.
As a part of the routine ongoing surveillance activities, the same was carried out on Saturday morning at the Naharlagun Railway Station and a total of 230 passengers and railway staff coming from Delhi by the Anandvihar Arunachal Express were screened using Non-contact Infra-red Thermometer for temperature monitoring. It was found all were having normal body temperatures and were allowed to enter the state. Similar surveillance/screening was done at the Naharlagun heliport and all the 24 passengers arriving by helicopter from Guwahati along with the crew members were declared to be having normal body temperatures. IEC leaflets were also distributed to the passengers and others at the heliport. With the aim of streamlining logistics/consumables distribution in districts, PPE, gloves, 3-layer surgical masks, N-95 masks, VTM and IEC materials (posters and leaflets) had been issued in sufficient quantities.
In addition to the above activities, denizens of the state have also been appealed to strictly adhere to the laid out hand and respiratory hygiene practices and refrain from attaining mass gatherings to avoid the spread of Covid-19. Coming to the national figures, the bulletin says there are two cases of deaths as on Saturday and the total confirmed cases have crossed 80 with 10 cured/discharged. Total flights screened count to 11,71,061.
