ITANAGAR, Jul 9: Clearing all doubts and fear psychosis among the denizens of Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) regarding community spread of COVID-19 after detection of two cases outside quarantine facility, Secretary Health P Parthiban today stated that as of now, the health department hasn’t detected any cases to confirm that there is community spread in the capital region.
The Secretary further informed that the two cases that were symptomatic came for testing for mild fever and they have tested positive.
‘We are doing our best to trace out how they tested positive. For that, we have also identified some containment zones like E & F sectors of Naharlagun. If there is anything doubtful in the containment zones, we will remove the concerned person from the area to ensure that no community spread like situation arises in the area,' said the Health Secretary.
Moreover, during this lockdown period, we will press all measures to find out whether community spread occurred or not, therefore we are doing Sero- surveillance testing for every frontline worker in the capital, informed Parthiban.
