ITANAGAR, Dec 16: At least nine families were left homeless after fire broke out in wee hours of Sunday at ESS Sector, Itanagar.
No casualties were reported but properties worth lakh has been lost in the inferno including a four wheeler and a two wheeler. The reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained.
Nine SPT type rented rooms including a shop belonging to one Koj Shanti (landlord) was reduced to ashes. Fire and Emergency service team rushed to the spot and doused the fire from spreading further, informed an official from the Fire Service.
Officials from Disaster Management also visited the place to scrutinize the losses.
Meanwhile, youths from ESS Sector voluntarily cleared the debris and also erected temporary shelters for the nine families.
