BOMDILA, Jan 9: The West Kameng district administration held a night sky gazing event at Dirang on Tuesday. The event was a first of its kind initiative by led by Deputy Commissioner Akriti Sagar. The students and residents of the village got the opportunity to take a look at the sky through professional telescopes under the supervision of an expert team from AstroScape, Delhi. This will be followed up with setting up of two astro labs which shall be inaugurated shortly.
The lab will have various astronomical equipments which shall inculcate and bolster interest in astrological sciences and give a closer view of the planets and celestial objects.
Such events will go a long way to provide first hand information to school children and denizens about the universe and inculcate interest in students about outer space. DIPRO
