Itanagar, Jan 19: Along with the rest of the country, Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization 2020 was launched across Arunachal Pradesh on Sunday with Minister (Health & FW) Alo Libang administering the first two Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) drops to a child here at Akashdeep Ganga Market.
Libang while stressing on 100 per cent coverage of children under 5 years of age, appealed all communities to participate in taking the two OPV drops from the nearest booth. He also urged the Health Department staff to work sincerely and deliver their best to reach out to all children at every nook and corner of the state. Director, Family Welfare Dr A. Yirang, NO (NHM) Dr D Padung, DMO Capital Complex Dr M. Perme, Deputy Director FW Amping Perme, NO Child Health and other officials of the Health Department were present on the occasion. Director, Family Welfare requested all parents to bring their children to the nearest booth for ‘Doo Bondh Jindagi Ka’ and further informed that house-to-house visits would also be carried out by the vaccinating teams and supervisors to look out for unimmunized children throughout the state.

While giving the Capital Complex figures, NO (NHM) informed that to reach the immunization target of 23480 children, 141 booths had been set up with 5 transit points and 42 mobile vans. He also informed IPPI booths had been set up throughout the district and special mobile vans and transit teams will cover multiple areas including the high risk ones.
In Khonsa, as a part of the National Immunization Day (NID) on Sunday, pulse polio programme was launched by SP Tirap, 
Kardak Riba through administration of polio drops to children between 0-5 years of age at the market area of the township.
On the occasion, vaccination drops were also administered by DRCHO Dr. Angu, Dr. O. Tagu, OC Khonsa Wangngoi Kamhua, SI Wiphang Poakna and IPR Representative Gawang Sumpa.  District Medical Officer I/c Khonsa Dr. Palash Rakshit informed that through 153 vaccination booths, the target is to immunize 5445 children in entire Tirap district. 
The programme was carried out all throughout the district with full efforts to reach the coverage target. IEC Bureau, DIPRO
