ROING, Feb 14:As part of the ongoing CSR activities of NHPC Dibang Multipurpose Project, the hydropower developer gave away the NHPC Scholarship (School) for meritorious students of government schools belonging to economically weak background of the Lower Dibang Valley district.

The cheque amounting to Rs 3,26,400 was presented to Deputy Director (School Education), District Lower Dibang Valley, Ego Doye  by Executive Director, DMP, Gobinda Baidya today.

The amount will be distributed to 39 meritorious students belonging to economically weaker families of Government Schools of District Lower Dibang Valley.

NHPC DMP has been implementing this Scheme of Scholarship in Schools for the last many years based on the percentage of marks. Cash awards in the tune of Rs 6,000, Rs 8,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 12,000 were given to students annually belonging to Standards (I-IV), (V-VII), (VIII-X) & (XI-XII) respectively.
