ITANAGAR, May 11: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union in a representation to the Secretary (H & FW) & Mission Director, National Health Mission has appealed for extension of last date for submission of applications in relation to recruitment of Medical Officers (MBBS), Nursing Officers & other health staff (Advt. No. APRHM/2020/08 dated February 26, 2020) and enhanced pay benefit for Nurses to be recruited through Recruitment Advt. No. APRHM/2020/15 dated May 7, 2020.
In relation to their appeal for extension of last date for applying, AAPSU has reasoned that since the last date to apply in prescribed application forms to the office of the Mission Director, NHM was March 31, many willing candidates were unable to apply owing to the first phase of the lockdown and other factors and as such it is necessary to extend the date for greater interest of the applicants and also for ensuring fair play.Regarding recruitment of 100 Nurses (on hire) for dedicated Covid-19 duties, AAPSU has opined that the consolidated pay of 20,000 per month as mentioned in the advertisement without any additional benefits tantamount to an insult to these frontline warriors fighting the pandemic.
“Arunachal Pradesh is already reeling under weak health infrastructure and shortage of manpower and the pandemic has already exposed that. AAPSU strongly demands for creating assets in the health sector on a permanent basis and not temporary respites and filling up of manpower & infrastructure shortages in all hospitals, CHCs, PHCs etc in line with the current IPHS norms,” the representation read.
