ITANAGAR, Sep 11: The 1st National Health Mission (NHM) Review Meeting for the Eastern Districts of the state namely Longding, East Siang, Dibang Valley, Lohit, Lower Siang, Siang, Anjaw, Lower Dibang Valley, Changlang, Tirap and Namsai was held today here at a private hotel.
The meeting was conducted with the objective to review the 1st quarter performance of NHM and its effective implementation in the above districts which was chaired by Secretary (H&FW) & MD NHM, P. Parthiban. While urging all the district officers to be proactive in implementing the NHM programme, he emphasised that the on-going good work under Routine Immunization must be sustained and efforts must be taken to reduce drop/left out cases, besides stressing on uploading of accurate data in portals. Underscoring the importance of ASHAs in grassroots level, Secretary (H&FW) & MD NHM felt that incentives must be provided to them on priority basis so as to keep their motivation level intact. The districts were also asked to scale up performance in all the programmes through concerted efforts and lay emphasis on training of Medical Officers, Nurses and ASHAs both at district and sub-district levels. Power Point Presentations were given by all these districts and issues pertaining to them were discussed in details. Director Family Welfare, Dr Allok Yirang stressed on reducing home delivery and need for creating more awareness for delivery at hospital only with proper tracking of all pregnant women and maintaining delivery records.
Nodal Officer NHM, Dr D Padung urged all the districts to share reports on time for further submission to the Ministry and also appealed to support the new districts to take them at par with the performing districts. All SPOs, NOs, Consultants of WHO, UNICEF & NHM attended the meeting. Newsdesk
