ITANAGAR, Feb 16: Good news for all married women, who once dreamt of becoming a beauty queen, MUSKAAN an ngo is hunting for a new face as its 7th Mrs. Arunachal-2017.

Themed “beauty with brain” it aims to give another chance to ambitious women who still think that their world is not just limited to kitchens.

Announcing this before the reporters at press club this afternoon, organizing committee member, Neelam Hari Talam said the pageant is aimed to provide a platform to married women to rewrite their destiny again.

“We are not looking for models, but want to create role models, who have the potential to become the  voice for lakhs of tribal women and with will to become next ambassador to promote women empowerment in state.  “Beauty in Diversity”, this is what Mrs. Arunachal-2018 is all about,” he added.

“We believe that the place for married women in  modern day should not be limited only inside homes, but they should be given opportunities to explore the world outside,” he further added while requesting women to come forward and participate.

Informing about their effort to make the pageant more tribal oriented, B Takar informed that unlike other beauty pageants, this time organizers have conceptualized a unique crown for the winner, which will portray the rich culture and traditions of all indigenous tribal society.

Asserting that society cannot prosper without education and empowerment of women ,the founder of MUSKAAN, Ngurang Anung Dopum said that being a women she wanted to provide an opportunity to fellow women in building their own identity and to inspire them to take on new challenges.

Registration is in progress and audition will start in zonal and district level from first week of March. The mega audition will be held in the state capital in the last week of same month,she further divulged.
