Aalo, Jun 27: International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking was observed here on Friday by the NGO Mother’s Vision with great enthusiasm.
The Chairperson of Mother’s Vision and Resource Person Kennedy Bagra along with the executive members launched a Drug Rehabilitation and Recovery Club on the occasion which is an innovative platform designed to impart certain skills essential for recovery of the addicts and give them scope for fun to come out of seclusion and face social life after recovery. The members opined that early part of the recovery is crucial and lack of protective environment, socialization process and proper communication pose hurdles for the addicts and alcoholics. The facility has separate rooms for entertainment, skills learning and other amenities like kitchen, toilets with attached bath etc. of the inmates.
The Club is being run by the recovered addicts who give service till they are in a position to get discharged under guidance of the Chairperson who manages all the affairs single-handedly. DIPRO
