NAMTHUNG/DIRANG, Oct 4: The two day regional workshop of National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training & Research (NITTTR) was inaugurated by Education Minister Honchun Ngandam today at government Polytechnic Namthung (Dirang) in the district.
Lauding the efforts of Director NITTTR Kolkata, Ngandam said that such occasional meets provide the right platform to hammer out solutions for the issues pertaining to the institutions including placement of jobs for the passed out students.
The Minister assured every possible help towards strengthening the institutions and said that the state government under the able leadership of CM Pema Khandu is serious about the education sector and have brought in numerous changes, he added.
Among others, MLA Phurpa Tsering, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Sonal Swaroop, Director NITTTR Prof. Phalguni Gupta, Director Technical Education Dr. T Talom and the programme coordinator NITTTR Dr. AK Mondal also deliberated in the inaugural programme session.
The consequent days would witness presentations by TPOs, talks by Industry persons and Principals and Industry Institute interactions.
Earlier in the morning, the minister accompanied by the local Legislator visited Sarada Mission Khaso and the nearby government schools.
At Sarada Mission Khaso, Ngandam assured to pursue the Chief Minister for the committed Corpus Fund announced during the CM’s visit to the school in May last.
He also assured to make the necessary allocations to complete the half built school Laboratory building being constructed under NLCPR.
