 ITANAGAR, Mar 25:

 

Minister for Education, Honchun Ngandam has directed the education department to start the process of rationalization of teachers ensuring optimum and effective utilization of teachers to fill the shortage of teachers across the state.

He also informed that the government through the education department is launching smart class rooms in 637 schools in the state next year on pilot basis and sought cooperation of educators in revamping the education sector in the state.

 

Expressing concern over the malpractices particularly in transfer and posting of teachers, Ngandam urged the officers and staff of both the directorate to stop indulging in such dishonest practices which will create hurdles in development of education sector. He called upon them to work with renewed energy in revamping education scenario from next academic session.

 

He was addressing a meeting of the department of education at Banquet Hall Itanagar on March 22 last.

The meeting discussed various issues like rationalization of transfers and posting of teachers, action against teachers absenteeism, revival of non-functional schools, engagement of teachers in non teaching jobs like BEO/BRC/CRC and their deployment, Poor standard of learning and teaching outcome, non- detention policy etc.

 

The house also had a threadbare discussion of the poor implementation of mid-day meal scheme especially in rural areas and adopted resolution to adopt transparency and strict implementation of MDM across the state.
