 ITANAGAR, Sep 15:

The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), President, Takam Sanjoy in presence of former chief minister, Nabam  Taki unveiled the new flag and insignia of Mahila Congress on the occasion of 35th Mahila Congress foundation day here at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan, Itanagar on Saturday.

Sanjoy who unfurled the Mahila Congress Flag also administered an oath to all the Mahila Party workers to uphold the values, ideals and responsibilities of the Congress party for equal development of society.

Former Chief Minister, Nabam Tuki in his speech said “We should give proper value and space to women they deserve.” He stressed the need to change the patriarchal mindset towards women in all spheres of society.

“Women should be given equal opportunity to help them enjoy a dignified life”, Tuki emphasized.

President, APMCC, Nabam Yakum stressed on enhancing women reservation from 33% to 50% in every sector.
