TAWANG, Feb 14: Chief Minister Pema Khandu today informed that a new airport for Tawang is also on the cards as airport authority has identified a land for the airstrip. He assured to push for immediate construction of the airport, which can be jointly used for civilian and defence purposes.
The CM said this while attending the Losar celebration here accompanied by legislators Tsering Tashi, Jambey Tashi and Phurpa Tsering. The celebration was also attended by the trading community mostly comprising of the non APST people.
Chief Minister said Tawang being a tourism hotspot, the government has taken several development initiatives to develop it keeping in mind the need. He said a walk through market is being developed in the town, which will be more beautiful than the popular MG Marg of Gangtok. He further said Rs 25 crore has been sanctioned for construction of CC road for development of the market road. CMO
