ITANAGAR, Aug 2: The 9th General Conference of All Arunachal Private Schools’ Association (AAPSA) was held here today at the Don Bosco Youth Centre, Itanagar in order to deliberate on matters of importance to AAPSA. The meeting saw the re-election of the President, Techi James and Secretary, Levi E. Katy and the election of other office bearers including Vice President, Fr. Joshua P.G. of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School and Treasurer, Pradeep Kumar of Little Star School. A new member was added to the executive body in the person of Cyril Sangma of Dawnlit Public School as Joint Secretary for the smoother functioning of AAPSA, especially its activities in favour of staff, students and parents of private schools of Arunachal Pradesh.
The meeting chaired by AAPSA President also worked out guidelines in selecting teachers for the State Teachers’ Award from the private schools and also drew up the AAPSA calendar of activities which included Principals’ Training Programme, Group Leaders’ Orientation Workshop (GLOW) for class captains and vice captains; Combined Teachers’ Day programme and the always-awaited Talent Search programme scheduled for November 28-30, the host school being Donyi Polo Vidya Bhawan.
Fr. Cyriac, Director, DBYC, Itanagar, congratulated the new Team AAPSA and called upon the members present to make AAPSA more relevant through student, teacher and parent-friendly activities. Newsdesk
