ITANAGAR, Apr 8: North East Students' Organisation (NESO), comprising various students organizations of Northeast states including All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union (AAPSU) has condemned BJP for including the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) in their election manifesto and reiterating its intention to pass it if voted to power.
In its press statement, NESO said, “It may be reminded that the whole of Northeast was up in arms in recent months against the move by the Government of India to pass this CAB in the Rajya Sabha. In this regard, NESO strongly condemns this move by the BJP as it clearly shows that it has no regard for the welfare of the microscopic indigenous communities of the Northeast but rather this move is to reduce us to a minority in our own land.”
NESO would like to send a clear message that it will not allow anyone to put the future generation at risk and the movement is on and will continue for safeguard and protection from both internal and external aggression, the release said.
BJP released its manifesto today for the ensuing Lok Sabha election in the country.
