ITANAGAR, Nov 8: Following feedback from Governor BD Mishra urging the Nyishi Elite Society to intervene and hammer out an amicable solution to the land encroachment in Rajiv Gandhi University, a team of NES led by its President, Bengia Tolum, called on Vice-Chancellor Prof. Saket Kushwaha on November 6 last. During the interaction it was revealed that the state Government has allotted 306.60 acres of land to the Rajiv Gandhi University Rono Hills, Doimukh vide Order No. DC/LM/PP (Govt.) 01909 dated 17th August 2010 duly authenticated with its map. NES also claimed that the allotment order of 17th August 2010 along with the map was never disclosed to the new incumbent Vice-Chancellor by the concerned authority and the original allotment order with map of 306 acres was produced only when the NES team brought out a copy of it in the meeting. Further, NES also entrusted its Papum pare district unit to start dialogue with the encroachers and coordinate with the university authorities and district administration for immediate restoration of the university land from the encroachers and to update the day to day progress to the President, NES. Meanwhile, along with the Vice-Chancellor, NES team also visited the newly constructed academic buildings and were aghast to find multiple major cracks and seepage in the building. While briefing the team, the Vice-Chancellor expressed his utter displeasure over the quality of works of the newly constructed building. Among others, Vice President-NES (East), Tarh Tabin, its  General Secretary, Heri Maring and team of central executive members were part of the delegation.
