SEPPA, Jan 20: With the state scheduled to go to polls in a few months, the Nyishi Elite Society (NES) has launched “clean election campaign” across the Nyishi inhabited districts from Seppa, East Kameng on Saturday. The movement aims to educate and raise awareness about the corrupt system of election among the people.
Launching the campaign here, NES Vice-President (East), Tarh Tabin appealed the gathering to eradicate money culture. “The decision to develop the area and community lies with voters, so we should elect a person who can really represent us and bring development in our area,” he added. He urged the Nyedar Namlo, Churches and other NGOs to pass the message of clean election in their respective places of worship and gathering to make it more effective.
Tara Kamche, Convener, East Kameng Socio Welfare & Cultural Organization said that cash for vote is the highest level of corruption due to which morality, values are degrading day by day.
Heri Maring, General Secretary NES, Er. Mara Kocho, NES Secretary In-Charge among others spoke on the occasion.
